About Kate Topper

Associate professor of Classics (mostly Greek and Roman art) at the University of Washington. My research focuses on ancient painting (especially Athenian painted pottery), word and image studies, the symposium, Dionysos, and lately the Hellenistic world. My current book project is tentatively titled The Thalamegos of Ptolemy IV Philopator: Power, Spectacle, and the Royal Ship in Hellenistic Alexandria. she/her
